1. Introduction
This Domain Registration Agreement ("Agreement") sets out the terms and conditions between you (the “Registrant”) and Webfort, governing the registration, transfer, and management of domain names through our platform.
2. Domain Registrar
Webfort may act as a domain reseller and register domain names through third-party registrars. By registering a domain via Webfort, you also agree to comply with the terms and policies of the relevant registry and registrar (e.g. Nominet UK Terms for .uk domains).
3. Registrant Responsibilities
As the domain registrant, you are responsible for:
- Providing accurate and complete contact information
- Keeping your contact details up to date
- Ensuring the domain is not used for unlawful purposes
- Complying with all applicable domain name registration rules and dispute policies
4. Domain Availability and Registration
Domain name registration is subject to availability and approval by the relevant registry. Webfort does not guarantee the availability of any requested domain name, and registration is not confirmed until the registry has processed it successfully.
5. Domain Renewals
Domain names are registered for fixed periods (usually 1–10 years). You are responsible for renewing your domain before its expiry date. Webfort may attempt to notify you prior to expiry, but we are not liable for any loss resulting from a domain not being renewed on time.
If your domain expires, it may enter a grace or redemption period (depending on the registry), during which recovery may be possible but could incur additional fees.
6. Transfers
You may request to transfer your domain name to or from Webfort, subject to applicable registry rules. We reserve the right to deny a transfer in cases of fraud, unpaid fees, or disputes. Domain transfers typically require authorisation via an EPP code or similar mechanism.
7. Domain Disputes
All domain name disputes are subject to the relevant registry’s dispute resolution policy (e.g. Nominet DRS for .uk domains, or UDRP for generic domains). Webfort does not arbitrate or resolve domain disputes but will comply with orders from governing authorities.
8. Suspension or Cancellation
We reserve the right to suspend, cancel, or refuse registration or renewal of a domain name if:
- The domain is used for illegal or abusive activity
- You provide false or misleading registration information
- Required by law, court order, or registry policy
- You breach this agreement or other related policies
9. Limitation of Liability
Webfort is not liable for any loss, interruption, or damage resulting from delays or failures in domain registration, renewal, transfer, or management. Our liability for domain-related services is strictly limited to the fees paid for those services.
10. Data Sharing and WHOIS
Your domain registration details may be published via public WHOIS databases, depending on registry rules and your chosen privacy settings. We may share your data with registries and service providers as required for domain provisioning and compliance.
11. Changes to This Agreement
We may update this Domain Registration Agreement from time to time. Continued use of our domain services after such updates constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
12. Governing Law
This agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England.
