1. Purpose
This Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) outlines the acceptable and unacceptable use of Webfort’s services. It is designed to protect our customers, our network, and the broader internet community from abuse, disruption, and illegal activity.
2. Agreement to Policy
By using Webfort services, you agree to comply with this AUP. If you violate this policy, we may suspend or terminate your account without notice, at our sole discretion.
3. Prohibited Activities
You must not use Webfort’s services to:
- Engage in any unlawful, harmful, fraudulent, or deceptive activity
- Host, store, or transmit illegal content including child abuse material, hate speech, or anything promoting violence or terrorism
- Distribute malware, ransomware, viruses, trojans, or any malicious code
- Conduct or facilitate denial-of-service (DoS/DDoS) attacks
- Attempt unauthorised access to networks, systems, or accounts (hacking)
- Send spam, bulk unsolicited emails, or operate open mail relays
- Infringe on copyright, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights
- Run IRC servers, botnets, or cryptocurrency mining without prior written approval
4. Resource Abuse
You must not use excessive system resources in a way that negatively impacts other customers. This includes CPU, memory, bandwidth, and disk usage. We may apply limits or take action if we deem usage abusive.
5. Security
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your own services, applications, and websites. This includes updating software, using secure passwords, and monitoring your systems for vulnerabilities. Webfort is not responsible for customer security breaches resulting from negligence or outdated software.
6. Network Integrity
You must not interfere with the normal operation of our network, services, or infrastructure. This includes avoiding activities that cause network congestion, routing issues, or impact other users’ connectivity or performance.
7. No Reselling Without Permission
Unless explicitly permitted, you may not resell Webfort services or provide them as part of a third-party service offering.
8. Reporting Violations
If you become aware of any abuse or policy violations, please report them to abuse@webfort.co.uk. We take all reports seriously and will investigate accordingly.
9. Enforcement and Consequences
Webfort reserves the right to monitor compliance and enforce this policy through warnings, service limitations, suspension, or termination of accounts. Serious violations may also be reported to relevant legal or regulatory authorities.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Acceptable Use Policy at any time. Continued use of our services after changes have been made constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
